**Post-natal Pilates - healing, recovery and restorative movement**


Post-natal Pilates at the Holistic Centre, Godalming, 10-10.45am on Tuesdays. Classes are designed to help women gently regain strength and mobility after birth and to prepare them for the demands of motherhood (all that bending, kneeling and carrying!) 


**SMALL CLASS SIZES** (max 6-8) to ensure full attention to the comfort and safety of clients. Block booking 5 weeks for £50 or £13 drop in. First trial class is free


Post-natal Pilates will:

  • introduce gentle movement and strengthening 

  • help new Mums regain abdominal tone and core strength

  • aid healing of diastasis recti (the abdominal divide) 

  • strengthen the pelvic floor

  • prevent and improve common aches and pains experienced after birth in the shoulder, back and pelvis.

Run by Lucy Smith, a Body Control Pilates trained teacher, the class is open to all new Mums who have been signed off to exercise by their GP or Physio. Babies welcome from 6 weeks to crawling. While you exercise, your baby can sit in a baby seat in the studio or lie on a mat by your side. Sessions run for 45 minutes. Beginners welcome.

**Pregnancy Pilates - supporting your body and growing bump**


Pregnancy Pilates at the Holistic Centre, Godalming, 11am-12 noon on Tuesdays. Classes focus on postural strengthening and the pelvic floor to support women’s changing bodies during pregnancy. 


**SMALL CLASS SIZES** (max 6-8) to ensure full attention to the comfort and safety of clients. Block booking 5 weeks for £65 or £15 drop in. First trial class is free


Regular Pregnancy Pilates will:

  • help you maintain good posture throughout pregnancy by strengthening core muscles

  • strengthen the pelvic floor including both strength and release work

  • ease common complaints such as lower back pain, Pelvic Girdle Pain and circulatory issues

  • encourage relaxation and control of your breathing

  • prepare the body for birth and the demands of motherhood (all that bending, kneeling and carrying!)

  • encourage baby into a good position for birth in later pregnancy.

  • Run by Lucy Smith, a Body Control Pilates qualified teacher, and open to women in the second and third trimester. Please check it is safe to exercise with your GP or midwife. Sessions run for one hour. Beginners welcome.

Mummas Mindfulness Course, Guildford

Mummas Wellbeing presents a 6 week Mummas Mindfulness course in Guildford.

This course starts on 18th April and runs for 6 consecutive Wednesday evenings (18th and 25th April, 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd May). Each session is 1.5 hours (7.45pm-9.15pm).

The course aims to teach you how to BE mindful. As opposed to learning the theory, the sessions teach mindfulness as a practise. 

Mindfulness is like exercise for the mind; the more you practice, the more you are able to pay attention nonjudgmentally (It’s a bit like exercising - the more you practice using a muscle, the stronger it will be). Each session will include 3 mindfulness practices and a short theory slot regarding an aspect of mindfulness.

You wouldn’t believe the benefits to physical and emotional wellbeing. It even helps with management of pain and sleep issues! NICE recommend mindfulness based therapies for depression and anxiety, but this course is suitable for anyone wanting to learn to be more intune with their self, to find a sense of inner calmness, and manage judgements.

The sessions are based around the Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy model and are run by experienced psychological therapists.

This class is designed to tackle the common problem areas following birth (diastasis recti, pelvic floor strength, posture, upper back, pelvic and lower back pain) as well as general strengthening. While designed for post-birth, there is no requirement to be post-natal and will accept pre-natal ladies too (adjustments made in class as needed).

Babies welcome. Telephone chat and health questionnaire and consent form required prior to start of class.

Run by Roz, a Chartered Physiotherapist, specialising in Musculoskeletal injuries and Women's Health, with postgraduate training in APPI Pilates.

Coffee Morning

Everyone is welcome to come and join us for our coffee morning. A great opportunity for a coffee and chat to other local parents.  The event is hosted by Busylizzy Guildford & Godalming  and Mummas Wellbeing

We meet in the cafe at GLive by the softplay (near the lift).

Mummas Wellbeing therapists will be offering free advice and signposting, as well as wellbeing tips. Come and learn about how to keep mentally and physically well and hear about the services Mummas Wellbeing has to offer.

Members can book on to the coffee morning through the app or online (you have free coffee morning credits to use).

We are running a free mums support group from 2nd March at Loseley Fields Children's centre with Mummas & Beans Ltd. 1st Friday of every month from 10-11.30am.

Come and chat to other mums, get support, get free advice and signposting, learn coping and relaxation skills and eat cake!
